“Alabu Dance” crowns contest winners

South Sudan Dancers’ SSD crew on Sunday jubilated with their fans after being crowned the heavy weight champion of the “Alabu Dance” competition.

The group was awarded acheque of SSP 20,000 a glass trophy and certificate of participation in the contest that lasted for a month.

Speaking to Juba Monitor, WalWal, one of SSD crew’s fans welcomed the win saying the group has met all the requirements for the champion’s title in the competition.

One Simon said he expected the White Moon dancers, nonetheless, he added that he has received the competition’s results in good faith.

Thecompetition saw New Soul dancers come second and while the White Moon dancers took the third position.

The first and second runner up in the competition walked home with SSP 10,000 and SSP 5000 respectively.

The peace contestfeatured many dance groups including The Future dancers, St Kizito dancers, New South dancers, Sunlight dancers and Shinny Stars dancers.

This season one of thecompetition that is expected to be an annual event had top judges like Daniel Danis, Albert Jada and Christiana Pita. The judges advised the dancers whofailed to make it to the top three to never give up.

The event also included great performances from the Hard Life Avenue stars, comedians Feel Free and VIP who kept dance lovers entertained.

The Silent Dancers who neither talk nor listen also excited the crowd with their dance moves, though many complained that they were dancing out of beat.

One Nancy at the event said: “When I saw the silent dancers dancing off tune, I wondered what is going on here till someone told me that the group made-up of the deaf”.

The “Alabu Dance” Competition was fully organized by Jubalicous Company limited.
