A local organization launched in Yei

Research and Development Organization (RADO) has been launched in Yei River County of Central Equatorial State.

The objectives of the organization is to enhance good governance and development by supporting communication as a fundamental strategy for socio-economic development.

Speaking to the media, the Executive Director of the organization, Daniel Friday Martin said, RADO seeks to create a positive social change at the community level by designing projects and programs informed by research and community participation and that all these are done through a process of initiating dialogue and debates and giving stronger, more representative and informed voices.

He said their first project would be the launch of a new radio station that would deal with issues of access to information and advocacy, communication for development and most importantly the civic education.

Friday stressed that his organization would work to fight against human rights abuses from the grassroots by empowering the youth and the women.

Mabe Moses, the County coordinator for Relief and Rehabilitation Commission said the organization should work hard to meet its vision and mission.

He said RADO should have regular checkup at its output at the end of each project in order to change and transform the community.

“The advocacy should really be taken serious by the organization and that it’s not the matter of coming up with organization that gives dollars and at the end of the project nothing has impacted the local community,” he said.

Justoson Victor Executive Director of Yiamora organization who spoke on behalf the civil organizations said, the access to information should be in all languages. He said working within the constitution, informing and bringing change to the people are the major elements in any organization’s profile.

Victor encouraged the RADO to always bring positive changes to the people.

RADO is a National Non-Governmental organization (NNGO) legally registered by the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission.
