National dialogue disusses foreign policy document

The National Dialogue Steering committee is deliberating on foreign policy document that may be adopted by the country.

Fr. Mathew Pagan, the Head of Documentation at the National Dialogue Secretariat said foreign policy was very important in shaping the country.

“The report from the grassroots and discussion that have been held so far, must fit the foreign policy of our country and South Sudan must come out and produce a foreign policy document,” he said.

Fr. Mathew said the discussion on the foreign policy would continue till Thursday, owing to the importance of the matters to be discussed.

Chan Deal, the Deputy Head of Communication and Information Unit at the National Dialogue Steering Committee, said it was important to have foreign policy.

“The foreign policy will guide our foreign mission going outside to represent South Sudan,” Chan said adding, “People say we do not have foreign policies that guide us between neighboring countries.

Chan added that the foreign policy was under discussion and it would be passed at the national conference set for December.
