CORPORATE LEAGUE RETURNS THIS SUNDAY
Peter James Loruba
The prestigious and fun filled Corporate League returns on Sunday for the second round of games of the 2019 edition.
In the first round of games, the Journalists registered the worst start among all the games losing both games to a lady dominated IPCA and Notos, conceding 7-the highest number of goals by a single team.
The second round will give the media professionals a second chance to redeem themselves and make amends to their poor start. The expert analysis they always make will come in handy when they take to the field this Sunday.
Sports journalists are rock bottom with zero points and -6 goals while South Sudan Red Cross that had the best start in the opening fixtures won both games. They sit at the top of the log with 6 points and 11 goals with Notos and Okay Africa Foundation following in 2nd and 3rd places respectively, both with 4 points only separated by Notos’ superior goal difference.
The journalists who blamed their loss on the absence of star players-Moro Lokombo and Doggy Isaac Samson will not be celebrating because the former has opted to withdraw from the next match as he is still nursing his injury while the latter is yet to confirm his participation.
In the morning games, the Journalists will play against MTN while the league leaders South Sudan Red Cross face True Line Africa (TLA). Okay Africa Foundation takes on IPCA while Nyakuron Legends will play Notos. The bankers Equity will face WS Insight-
With all the teams promising to return with more firepower, the wait for the next round of games only becomes more interesting when football meets mchomo, beer and corporate slayers.
Corporate League South Sudan since its inception in 2014 aims at team building among the staff of the different participating teams and the league will be capped off with an award dinner in the first weekend of December to recognize all participating teams and those personalities that have excelled during the season.
