The Institute of Peace, Development and Security Studies (IPDSS) University of Juba launched a new book under the theme “Peace, Justice and Development and Revitalization of South Sudan.
Speaking during the launching, Dr. James Okuk said this book is dedicated to the downtrodden youth, women and elders of South Sudan who had borne the abhorring effects of senseless war bluntly but remained resilient with hope for better future of peace, stability and development for posterity.
“The main focus is that we want to focus on how we implement peace deal with just the few two months remaining to go for formation of unity government.”
Director of Empower Women Institute Dr. Jackeline said in the beginning of this book we highlighted the peace agreement which means all custom laws including the National Constitution have been widely extolled and commended as significant development signaling the dawn of peace.
“The book also highlighted the peace deal which attempts to revive the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCSS). So conflict of law and conflict of temptation between peace agreements are important. We also highlighted that within seven days of the signing of the agreement.”
She added that the agreement provides for the establishment of the Revitalization Transitional Government of National Unity (RTGoNU) in South Sudan because the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (RTGoNU) will be mandated to rule for 36 months period of transition that will commence on the eighth month after the signing of the ARCSS.
Dr. Jacob Dut Chol said writing book by our own people about South Sudan is very good for our citizens. I encourage them to continue doing which will give people knowledge.
