CECAFA Kagame Cup: Kator FC thrashed 3-0 by Ugandan side Vipers FC
By David Mono Danga
Kator FC has lost its 3rd and last game of the CECAFA Kagame Cup group stage against their Ugandan opponents, Vipers FC on Thursday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Vipers lashed the Katorians by three goals to nil. Vipers dangerous Striker Duncan Sseninde opened the score at the 23 minute and player maker Steven Mukwala doubled for the Vipers just a minute later. Yayo Lutimba netted Viper’s third and last goal in the injury time.
Kator has lost all its games at the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2018, making it the worst team ever to represent South Sudan in international tournaments.
The South Sudanese premier league champions were already knocked out of this year’s competition when they lost to Zanzibar’s JKU FC by two goals to nil in their second game on Sunday.
Initially Kator FC was drawn with Yanga of Tanzania but following the withdrawal of Yanga FC of Tanzania and St. George of Ethiopia, CECAFA had swiftly replaced them with APR of Rwanda and Singida of Tanzania prompting a redraw of the fixtures. CECAFA revised the fixtures in respect of the two changes.
Kator are bound to come back to South Sudan today.
