“We are two weeks away from the 4th October 2019 which is the time where we are expected to implement fully the obligation,” said Mou Mou Athian, Undersecretary for the East African Community Affairs.
Mr. Athian added that they had committed themselves when they exceeded to the East African Community, but said the time was now over.
He made the remarks yesterday during the discussion on the National Policy Strategy on East African Community integration.
The Undersecretary stressed that the National Policy draft has been developed to guide government institutions on how to implement the EAC projects.
Athian said that the EAC office has developed the policy and strategy that has not yet been finished, saying the document is expected to be reviewed
Major Gen. Simon Ananias Laku, Undersecretary Ministry of Defense said the EAC needs South Sudan to understand the policy and program so that it can be able to contribute effectively in their views as institution.
He explains that it was important for the various institutions to join together and contribute towards the project.
“We are here to discuss, analyze and contribute to the project for the implementation of the East Africa Community project and program,” Simon said.
Simon stated that it is vital to join the regional groups so that it can be easy to work as an institution from South Sudan.
