An open letter to His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit
I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to you and your leadership for bringing sustainable and lasting peace to the people of South Sudan through the signing of the Revitalized Peace Agreement which you have signed last year. The peace that will create a condusive environment for the young people and the next generation to realise their dreams.
As you once said, “South Sudan shall always continue moving forward if our people put their differences behind them, forget the past and embrace unity and love for one another.
May the Almighty God protect, strengthen and bless you and your leadership with more and new altruistic ideas for governing the country.”
Your Excellency, I am writing this letter to you as a son writing to his lovely father and indeed you are a great and admirable father to me.
Dear President, you may not know me personally, but I am an academically minded young South Sudanese with a continuous and strong ambition of wanting to learn more and continue further with education up to the University level but only limited by financial inability to facilitate my education particularly in the field of medicine.
I completed senior six last year and acquired very good points qualifying me to do a medical course at the University. I offered a science combination of subjects in my Advanced Level. I managed to study and complete all of my secondary education from Kampala because the schools where I studied from offered me academic bursary exempting me from school fees payment due to my good and continuous academic performance.
Please your Excellency, I am kindly requesting you to sponsor my education at the University in the above mentioned field. I promise to strive and work very hard in my course and acquire very good grades, graduate and become a very good medical doctor in the Republic of South Sudan.
With all due respect, I tried writing to you twelve times since the beginning of this year. I would hand the letters to different offices so that the letter reaches you, but I haven’t received any feedback from them. I strongly believe that you will receive and read this one your Excellency.
Thank you so much and may your eyes continue seeing beyond. I am looking forward to getting a positive response from you father. May you live longer.
